Robert G. Gish, MD, is Medical Director of the Liver Transplant Program at
the California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, California, and
is Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of California
in San Francisco. He is President of Pacific Hepatology and Gastroenterology
Medical Group in San Francisco and serves as Associate Professor of Medicine
at the University of Nevada in Reno.
Dr. Gish received his undergraduate degree at University of Kansas in Lawrence,
and his medical degree at the University of Kansas in Kansas City. He performed
his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of California
in San Diego. Dr. Gish completed his Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship
at the University of California in Los Angeles. He is board certified in
Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
Dr. Gish is a member of several societies, including the American Association
for the Study of Liver Disease, American Gastroenterology Association, and
the American College of Gastroenterology. He currently serves on several
committees, such as the American Society of Transplant Physicians Membership
Committee and the American Liver Foundation National Scientific Review Committee.
He sits on the Editorial board for The Practical Hepatitis Newsletter. Dr.
Gish was honored in 2002 with a Salute to Excellence from the American Liver
Foundation. He has served as co-investigator for several trials.
